insurance requirements

All Permittees using the SMCA are required to have
insurance coverage in effect during their entire occupancy, including
move-in, event days and move-out. Insurance must be "occurrence
insurance."
The minimum coverage required is one (1) million ($1,000,000) dollars
of general liability coverage. The SMCA may require other and/or
increased insurance coverage deemed appropriate for the event. Workers
Compensation, Employers Liability and Comprehensive Automobile Liability
Insurance are also required. Insurance certificate must be filed
no later than 30 days prior to move-in. Events will be subject to
cancellation if Insurance Certificate is not received within the
allotted time period.
Permittees may purchase insurance coverage from the City of Santa
Monicas insurance program. Please contact SMCA for cost information.
